My word is TRYING.....

Happy Windsday!! It's very windy here in south-central Pennsylvania, and I'm picturing Pooh Bear and Piglet trying to make their way across the Hundred Are Wood, persevering in their attempt to reach their destination.

Bonnie asked for 'my word' in her latest blog post. There are so many words out there to choose from.  Mine, for this point in my life, is 'TRYING'.  Like Pooh Bear I am trying to get where I need to be and trying to be content with where I am.  I won't bore you with a rant on politics and education.. I think that statement sums it up.

I am trying to allow myself to take some time to sew every week and feel good that I am able to, at times, get in more than one day a week where I actually use a need and thread.

So where am I?

Kevin went to an estate sale on Tuesday night after work.  You know, the Polar Vortex Day.. when we had off school and there was no way I was going to leave the house.  I love this man.  He came home with two beautiful antique quilts to add to the collection.

Aren't they lovely?? Of course Smokey had to investigate.

Another thing I will be trying to accomplish this year is keeping up with my blog.  I've been very lax this past year for various reasons I won't delve into.  I enjoy reading what others are doing and I know there are probably faithful friends who wonder if I fell off the face of the earth.  No worries.. I'm still here.

So I am hoping that those of you who read this are trying and perhaps succeeding in your attempts to accomplish whatever it is you hope to accomplish.

Take care and we will talk again soon.

Trying is an excellent choice. It stops short of punishing ourselves for not quite reaching a goal. Good for you! I've been trying to come up with an appropriate word for myself for the year, but haven't found a good one yet.

Your husband has excellent taste in antique quilts. Wow! That basket one is especially striking.
