I made it through the first week.... giveaway

The first week is done, and I made it. I was seriously exhausted by Friday night and just crashed in the lazy boy for two hours. I've got a good group of kids this year. Hopefully things will continue this well for the rest of the year. I have a student who recently moved from Oxfordshire, England. I'm not sure if he's bored or homesick.... but I'm sure he will be ok.

So in honor of the first week.. I've gone through the stash/scraps and packed up another box. If you want/need some new stuff, please leave a comment telling me your favorite school memory. Make sure I can contact you (email please and no anonymous comments.) Also, I'm sorry but I have to restrict this to domestic US only... shipping this overseas would be a bit dicey.

Let's make this a quickie.... deadline is Monday, September 5 at 4 pm EST.  What a great Labor Day giftie this will be for someone.

Oh.. isn't Abby just the cutest??!!!

Hugs!!

It's funny the bad ones come to mind first. A favorite memory was learning a solo for a competition and having a. Friend sit with me on the bus everyday to run through it so I could memorize it.

Glad you made it through your first week! One thing I always remember about grammar school...even though I went to a small school (K-8) with only 12-15 kids in my class each year, there was always at least one other Michelle and sometimes two other Michelle's. I never liked my name because it was sooo unoriginal! LOL Thanks for the chance to win some scraps! And, I agree, Abby is cutie!!

Oh I love other people's scraps!
My favorite school memory was marching band. We were pretty good and we had such proud wearing that band uniform. Looking back, we were just band geeks but I really really loved it.

oh lordy Nancy!
I only have 2 days under my belt so far and I'm barely hanging on by the fingernails :0)

Favorite school memory...?.....
I guess it really would have to be the year I spent abroad in Germany as a foreign-exchange student during my Senior year. It was hard to be away from home that long (SOOOO long before the Internet and email and Facebook was on the scene), but....the year was so amazing and so unforgetable!

Oh I would love to win some scraps! I have the perfect scrap quilt I want to do! Actually, I am still in school--teaching now though 33 years! We start on Tuesday with the students because of Hurricane Irene--CT was hit hard enough to disrupt the beginning of the school year in many towns. We are finally getting there. Favorite school memory huh, I am going to say meeting my husband--who I am still with after high school, college and 33 years of marriage this July! I can't beat that! Thanks so much!

Winning the Reading Rockets in 6th grade! For each book we read our rocket moved up the wall (in increments of 5) and my rocket blasted way past all but two other readers!

I'm glad you survived that first week...I do recall them as being very tiring!!! I loved school and have many favorite memories but the first one that came to mind when I read this was the big bonfire we'd have in high school before the first football game of the year. It was so much fun, but I don't think the schools do that any longer.

There were so many times that the first day of school was foggy! I remember waiting for the bus in mornings and barely seeing it coming down the road. As we were driving my son back to college a couple weeks ago he remarked that it was foggy that day as well!

Congratulation on completing your first week of school.

I'd love to have more scraps! My favorite school memory is actually a whole year. I adored my fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Mason, and I loved learning about the history of my state that year.

I loved school so much as a kid that I became a teacher. After teaching in a high school for 34 years, I retired in 2004. My best school memory is of the final student to cross the stage on graduation 2004. As the Senior class sponsor, my career was finished when Stephanie York received her diploma. When she came off the stage, she was the first to congratulate me on my retirement.

Oh, I would love to win some scraps. I would share with my 2 new quilting buddies. My favorite memory of school might be the very first day. My dad walked me to school, since my mom was working day shift and my dad was on afternoons. Thanks for sharing.

Sigh .... so I can hear either Mrs. Leister or Mrs. Klaiss, my first and kindergarten teachers respectively, telling my mom that I don't follow directions. You asked for my favorite school memory and I didn't share! I heard the word scraps and got really excited :) Anyway, my favorite memory (now anyway) would be summer band camp. Riding into town with all of my friends twice a day to do band camp for high school. It got to be even more fun when we all started getting our drivers licenses and could drive ourselves!
