End of Summer/First Day of School

Well, this is it... summer is over and the first day of school is tomorrow. I've spent every day of the past week in my room, hanging posters, copying papers, etc. Kevin built me two incredible bookshelves and Abby and Beth donated some books they were finished with.

So my quilting time will be put on the back burner... but I think I've learned to budget my time with this new position and I know come January things will get easier as I have taught the second half of the year already.

So, have a great fall and keep on stitching. I love living vicariously through all of you!!

UFO Challenges for September and October

There are only two more months in the UFO challenge so I just picked a number for each month and put them on the sidebar.

September # 1
October # 8

Thank you to all who have participated. I know summer gets busy.. and needless to say I didn't get as many done as I would have liked but I know I will soon as two more are at the quilter.

We will start this up again in January if you all are interested.

Sundae Quilters At it Again

The Sundae Quilters got together again yesterday..... I so needed it. I worked a little more on my hexies... Jeane has started on them now and Belinda is going to join us soon.

So from left to right we have: Jan, Belinda, Fran (holding Duchess), Pat, and Jeane. Seated is Judie (holding Duncan) and Bonnie.

Judie's other Scottie, Hamish, was a little camera shy.

If you have the chance to get a small quilting group together go for it.... these gals give me inspiration and strength and help me put things into perspective when I need it the most.

Hugs!

UFO Finish

Woohoo!!! Another finish.

Donna emailed me last week that she had another quilt done for me. This was an Autograph Star block swap we did at guild a couple of years ago. There were only six of us in the group, so we each made two blocks for each person.

I love the star fabric on the border and binding.... I think it ties it all together.

Oh, and those are Beth's  toes :o)

Enjoy!!!

My 'trash' is your 'treasure'

Remember a couple of months ago I said I was going through books and patterns? Well after the Sundae Quilters went through them, and I donated some to the guild library, here is what I have left.

I'll start with the books; hopefully the PayPal gods will be good to me :o)  If not we will have to do money orders.

Books are $10 which includes shipping (domestic only)

I do have a PayPal account so if you are interested in anything please let me know through email at brownie340us@yahoo.com I will then send you the information as my PayPal account is linked to another email. You can also send me a Money Order if you like; again I'll send you the snail address.

Books will be shipped once payment is received.

Thanks and have fun shopping!

Windows

As usual, I didn't think to take a picture of the windows prior to their removal, but here is a picture of the BIG hole in the wall... and the new windows in the living room LOL.

There is still some woodwork to do around the living room windows... and some mini-blinds to buy for the sewing room.. but other than that everything is up and looks great.

I love this commercial......

Laptop is home!!!

The laptop came home today...getting used to the fact that all of my saved sites are gone. Now I can really get back to work on school stuff (as Edgar Allan Poe stares at me).

Frustration and windows

Why is it that when I am innocently searching for information on the web, investigating new quilty blogs, etc.... that some blankety-blank program some idiot deemed necessary to put on the web has to find its way into my laptop??!!!!

I have a four-session on-line class starting tomorrow. Thankfully we have the PC to fall back on... but there are so many files on my laptop I want to save. Pictures of quilts that people have sent me.... pictures of friends.

Needless to say it is headed to Dr. Laptop.

On the up side, the new windows are going in today. My sewing room is the first one to get its upgrade!!!

Have a good one!
