I wish.......

I took a personal day today.... and while it would be nice to think I could spend it someplace like this...with a guy like that ...... it ain't gonna happen.

So, I'm up at 6 am (only 45 minutes later than usual); have two loads through the washer, working on the third. Going to meet Judie and go to lunch and to a quilt shop.

I keep thinking about my students, hoping they are behaving that the sub found everything needed to make it through the day.

Oh! and I found the cutting instructions I was missing for the chimney sweep block that I ripped out of the magazine. I even found my table... like I'm going to have time to use it lOL

How to create a guild directory.....

My guild has decided that we want to add photographs of our members to the directory. I volunteered to help out with the project and needless to say I am a little frustrated.

I have started to build it in EXCEL, but that would mean that alphabetizing it and then adding to it would be a nightmare.

Anyone know of an easier way to do this???

Block Swap

A couple of months ago (I think) I posted about wanting to make a quilt using the Chimney Sweep block. Thanks to some wonderful blog friends, I was able to track down the pattern and even get my hands on a PDF file with really simple instructions.

Anyone want to swap? The block measures 10-1/2 inches unfinished.

Each person would be responsible for making 12 blocks.

I'm seeing this done with Civil War fabrics.... and maybe another swap using 1930's reproduction fabrics. To be consistent, the background will be Kona Cotton natural. You decide which you want to do and let me know either in a comment on this post or email me privately using the address given in my profile. If you want to do both, that's fine.

Blocks are due August 15, 2010. Remember, swapping is a commitment.... if you can't make twelve blocks in 3 months (allowing for mailing time) don't sign up. Nothing leaves a bitter taste in a quilter's mouth quite like a swapper than doesn't follow through. However, we all understand that life happens... if you need to drop out, let me know ASAP.

It felt soooooooooo good!!!!

Bernie and I haven't spent any time together for about three months but today was the day.

I cut!!! I sewed!!!

I suppose I should clarify and mention that Bernie is my Bernina LOL.

So now I'm thinking of swapping. Let me work out the details and I'll post them in a little while (or sooner).
