March UFO Challenge

Death of a router

The router died yesterday........ Happy Valentine's Day to us.

So after speaking with my techy guru this morning, I went to Staples, bought a new router, got it hooked up and we are good to go.

Now........... what did we do before routers and modems and such????

I actually finished something!!!

Thanks to my friend Donna and her APQS Millenium, I have finished my daughter, Beth's, Mousie quilt.

I found the fabric about three years ago at Joanns and never really decided what pattern to do until the end of last summer. Then between fall retreat and Christmas break I was able to get the top done. Donna finished it during the first snow storm last weekend and thanks to the blizzard (and three days off from school) I was able to take some time to cut, sew, and stitch binding.

We call this Beth's first 'big girl' quilt.... she outgrew all of her other quilts. She isn't quite sure what to do with a quilt that is actually longer than she is.

Can you say........ Roof Work???

If nothing else, this storm has showed us we need to insulate more in the attic and probably, definitely, look into getting the roof replaced. These killer ice spears are not a good thing to find hanging off of the house.

On a positive (non school) note, I did take some time today and make binding for Beth's mouse quilt. It is on by machine so I just have to hand sew it down. It felt good to fondle some fabric.

Jelly Roll Sampler Quilt Along

Surely I can do this......... one block every two weeks? I think I can, I think I can, I think I can........


Heck!! If it keeps snowing, I won't have to go to school right?????

I was so trying not to post about the snow..... but this is crazy!! Two storms in less than a week.... and they've canceled school tomorrow.......... so much for a day off in March.

About as quilty as I'm going to get anymore

I bought fabric last night.

One of the gals I taught with in the high school (before moving to the middle school) called and suggested we go for supper one night. So we went for Mexican, and I had a bolt of Kona Snow to pick up.

While I was there I found this owl fabric and the compliment prints. I bought three yards of the owls and a FQ bundle to bring home to show Abby.... there is another owl quilt in the works. I'm pretty sure I'm going to use the Turning 20 Around the Block to showcase the owls. She likes all of the prints accept the little flower (she doesn't like the pink dot).

*sigh*........... I'll put this on the 'do in the future' list.
