End of Summer/First Day of School

Well, this is it... summer is over and the first day of school is tomorrow. I've spent every day of the past week in my room, hanging posters, copying papers, etc. Kevin built me two incredible bookshelves and Abby and Beth donated some books they were finished with.

So my quilting time will be put on the back burner... but I think I've learned to budget my time with this new position and I know come January things will get easier as I have taught the second half of the year already.

So, have a great fall and keep on stitching. I love living vicariously through all of you!!

Have a great year of teaching! Once in a GREAT while, I get nostalgic and miss going back the first week of school, but it then passes quickly. LOL

Best of luck with a new school year. It does get easier every time you go through a new course. Before you know it you will have time to teach and have a life at the same time. Until then, have fun.

This is my second day of retirement and I do miss the first flurry of activity getting ready for school. Of course the rosy glow fades when I remember all of the paperwork (always the bane of my existence)and the feeling of absolute exhaustion after having spent the day with 4 and 5 year olds. I miss the little guys and the curriculum planning terribly. It's all of the rest of the demands that go along with teaching that remind me I left at the right time in my life.
Hope you have a fabulous year in the classroom and out.

Hope you are off to a grand start Nancy- I began work last Monday although I had been in a few times before to start setting up and getting things organized. We had students starting on the first of September.
They are not yet finished the renovation but it is improving daily at school.
Ahhhh the busyness and business of school. Wishing a fabulous year.
