Latest Summer Read

I just finished "State Fair" by Earlene Fowler... the latest in her Benni Harper mystery series. If you haven't read any of these yet I highly recommend them. I also urge you to read them in order. You can find the list at her website.

Thanks for following my new blog! I am adding this book to my list of "to read" books. I love a good book!

I also just finished State Fair. I felt that it was weak compared to the rest of the series. The characters don't seem to be growing.

I haven't read this one yet...I'll have to request it from the bookmobile. I did read the other one she just released but I can't remember the name of it. Not a Benni Harper one but the Benni Harper characters make appearances in it.

Alright, now you've got me started. I'm taking your advice and starting at the beginning, with Fool's Puzzle. So far I've only embarassed myself by laughing out loud LOUDLY on the commuter train 3 or 4 times. Favorite line so far? One of Benni's old HS friends, discussing a boy she dated in high school: "I don't know where my mind was. He kissed like a vacuum cleaner set on thick plush."

Another very funny author is Janet Evanovich. Her books have nothing to do with quilting, but boy do I KNOW her characters, and boy do I laugh.
