Times they are a-changin'......................

Honestly I am not a Bob Dylan fan.... I just thought that line was appropriate.

There are some changes coming down the pike for me. I have been teaching half-time for the last year and a half and yesterday found out that I have been awarded a full time position in the Middle School; 8th Grade Social Studies and Language Arts. The change happens on the 25th of this month at the semester change.

I have mixed feelings about this. The idea of having a full-time job is exciting and American History is my thing. But I have thoroughly enjoyed reconnecting with World Cultures and my 10th graders this year are phenomenal kids!!! I feel like I'm abandoning them... but I know they will be ok.

Obviously this is going to impact my quilting time. I'll have to sneak time in here and there.

Ok, back to grading papers.... and making up a mid-term/final.

Hugs!

Congratulations -- I hope. I recently made the change from part time to full time and it is a blessing as well as a curse. It is nice to be considered a real faculty member and to be so much more a part of what is going on, but the time required seems to increase much more that the paycheck or number of classes would imply. I hope you find a nice balance of life and work, it is an ongoing balancing act for most of us.

Congrats on the new position! And a bug heartfelt Thank You! for being a teacher. There are not enough teachers in this world. I'm sure you will still find time for fondling fabric and quilting.

Congratulations on being offered a full-time position. I know you have mixed feelings but I started quilting while doing a full-time job and know it can be done. I suggest you take care to not take on too much, you want to be able to enjoy both your teaching and quilting.

Congratulations Nancy on your new contract- I am sure you will do a great job with your students- especially because you get to share your passion with your students.

Finding the balance between work and place is a constant challenge for me. Some days I am just too tired to quilt- but my kindergarten babies make my day each and every day fun -You never know what 5 year olds are going to say and do LOL

Regards,
Anna
