Please don't feel neglected...........
but I don't always get the chance to read all of your posts.
Now that school has started, I really have to budget time and make choices. One thing that may be neglected is reading blogs and/or commenting. I skim through the post titles on my Google Reader and if something really catches my eye, or you are one that I read regularly I'll open it up.
But please, I hope you don't feel neglected or offended if I don't comment all the time. I do love reading all that I can and seeing all the lovely quilting and things going on. Almost makes me jealous LOL
Happy Fall!!!

Saving greeting cards and notes
Don't fall off your chair, but I moved the sewing room around again and I honestly think this is the one arrangement that will stick. In doing so I found some notes and cards from friends and family.
Do you save things like that? I can remember finding my baby book and it was full of cards from people that I didn't even know and honestly.... I didn't care to keep them. I guess they meant something to my mother.
Anyway, I'll find a place for them. Until next time I come across them and wonder what to do with them.
Sunny fall day hugs to you all!

Giveaway - First Runner Up
9-11

It's 9-11......... many of the blogs that I follow have posted about it.
I remember that morning vividly; my oldest daughter was nearly hit by a car in front of our house after the driver chose to ignore the bus lights. After returning home from the District office I was on the computer and a friend messaged me and said 'Turn on the TV". I couldn't believe it. I thought about going to get my children, but I didn't want them begin living with panic and uncertainty.
Today I showed a power point in my classes that another teacher made. I also gave my kids an essay assignment...... no right or wrong, no research to do........ just about 9/11. They need to start expressing themselves and voicing their views. This is the Pearl Harbor of their generation and will live with the aftermath of it for the rest of their lives.
Hug someone today............. pay it forward............. smile............... remember.

Nancy Rink BOM posted
Nancy Rink is a very generous quilt artist. She creates a BOM and then makes it available to quilters for FREE. If you like stars you will like this one... it is called Galactic Explosion. Click on the name of the project and check it out. I have my folder created on my laptop and have the first two installments downloaded. Both of the color-ways she shows are lovely... I can't make up my mind.

Addicted and in love

Do you like coconut? If you do and you have Edy's ice cream products available in your area, you have to try these. They are Whole Fruit bars. I LOVE the coconut ones.... totally addicted to them. Not sure where this love of coconut came from; when I was little I wouldn't touch the stuff.
Anyway.... back to sewing. I'm taking some time for me this weekend before I have to think about school again.
Labor Day hugs!!!

September UFO Challenge

Where does the time go???? All of the sudden I realized that today is the second day of September; time for a new UFO Challenge number to be chosen.
I'll be honest.... I fell off the wagon months ago. I did manage to get four of them done, but something told me that with teaching school and getting used to the schedule there was no way I was going to get something done in a month. When I'm tired, or after dark, I don't like to quilt.... something about the light I think.
Anyway.............. the number for September is #2.
Good luck all!!

Finished in one day (well almost)
I still have to buy the button for it, but otherwise I have it cut, sewn, and ready in one afternoon/evening.
A teacher I work with loves flamingos. I found the fabric this summer when our guild went on a shop hop down to Annapolis and Gaithersburg, Maryland. I was originally going to make it like the scrappy Weekender Bag, cutting up the flamingo fabric with some other FQs that I bought. But the more I looked at those goofy birds I knew I couldn't cut them up.
So the bag is totally Flamingo, inside and out. The inside pockets are the bright green like the palm trees and I quilted it using a bright green Masterpiece thread I had leftover from another project.
Oh, I also used regular batting instead of fusible fleece this time. I quilted the first two pieces and it just didn't seem to have enough stability. So the outside pieces are quilted with double batting. Needless to say when I top stitched around the top, I had to hand crank the needle through the side seams or I am sure it would have broken.
I love this pattern. I can some more of these being made as gifts down the road.
I'm here!!!!

My web provider was experiencing technical difficulties yesterday. Isn't it amazing how attached we have become to the internet???? Today I found 181 blog postings on my reader, and I must apologize........... I didn't go back and read them all.
Today was the 2nd day of school and things are going well so far. Flexibility is the key during the first week.
Now I am off to catch up with my email and giveaway comments.
Internet hugs!!!
