A major move in our family

We have finally decided to go to the fake side of the holiday.... fake tree that is. Kevin has allergies to some trees and while he did go through five years of allergy shots (mainly to keep the cat) I do think the real tree still bothers him. We also are tired of the mess and trying to keep the cat from drinking the water in the tree stand.

Now I'm not sure where I was when we bought it, but I honestly thought it was going to be bigger. So, we will build a little box for it, throw a piece of fabric over the box and Ta-Da!!! We have Christmas.

My daughter has one too and it's the cutest little tree.

Now I feel like I need to clean the house and get our tree up (for the girls' sake).

:0) All good though! We FINALLY got a dusting of snow, so the C'mas spirit is slowing hitting home.

How long have you had those penguins on your sidebar? OMGoodness! I didn't realize they followed the cursor! I sat for a few minutes just playing. LOL

We went over to the fake side a few years ago because of my DIL's allergies. I miss the real tree and the smell of it all, but I love my DIL mpore that any hunk of wood and needles. Anyway, that's why God made scented candles.

On the bright side, if you put that tree up on a box, that leaves much more room underneath for big presents. Let's see: a Bernina 830, a handiquilter, a Koala cabinet, a new washing machine.....

Nancy have fun with your tree, we went that route a few years ago, and have not regretted it! We also put ours higher on an antique sled, and then we can place packages on the sled and on the floor, it works well for us! Have a great weekend! Why do I feel like your cat on your previous blog entry looks like me today ☺!

we have never had a 'live' tree.. in our climate, 110F + live tree = humungous mess...
I think its being environmentally friendly too, the trees end up in the rubbish heap when chrissy is over..
We actually have two tree's..

Real trees are sprayed with insecticide to keep the little critters from eating your tree and crawling all over it - and also with fire retardant - both of those things are not good for people. Unless you go out and cut a tree in the woods, all trees are sprayed - even the ones in the cut-it-yourself lots. Enjoy the fake one - we love ours.
