Finally Finished!!!!

Bonnie Hunter is a fantastic scrappy quilter. This quilt is from the Orange Crush mystery she posted on her yahoo list a year or two ago (been so long I can't remember). Anyway, I finished it last night!!!

This was my "I want to get this quilted and done" this summer project and I was determined to have it done this weekend. I quilted it on my Bernina 440QE without the BSR. I think it turned out well. I've decided to call my version "Tropical Rush" because of the pink, lime, and blue. The flowers were done freehand and the then meandering was done on the other areas.

I'm just glad it's finished......... I feel like I actually accomplished something quilty this summer.

those are some beautiful colors Nancy that you used and some how all of the scrappy 4 patches really do "work" with them :)

I clicked to make larger and have to give you a big ole "WHOOO HOOO" for the machine quilting that you did ;) I've been wanting to learn more on how to use my old Bernina to quilt free motion and have practiced but somehow it doesn't look good enough yet for a real quilt.... hope one day I get there. ;)

Thanks for sharing your blog link on the quiltvillechat list that is how I found you.

Love from Texas! ~bonnie

Nice job on your freehand (free needle?) flowers! I love the black with those hot colors -- really makes them pop!

Congratulations! It turned out great! I have often thought about doing one of her mystery quilts but I finally decided that they have waayyyy too many peices for me to risk it as a mystery quilt.

ZING, POP, Kapow! I love it, the blue is perfect, the lime is invigorating & the pink twirls beautifully.

very nice job. Your freehand quilting looks good too. What thread did you use? It looks thicker than normal or am I reading into it?

Your tropical crush turned out beautiful! I still have mine in the "works I'm pondering" stage. I have so many I want to make and if I didn't have to work, I may be able to get them done. Darn!

This is beautiful! And I am proud of you for completing a Bonnie quilt with all those little pieces: I have two still in process. And your quilting is great: I never could do a good job with my DSM. Good job!

All I can say is WOW! I just got a Bernina 440QE. Haven't played with the BSR much. Is there a reason you didn't use it? I just haven't forced myself to sit down for a few hours and practice. Heard that is the key.....
